Creating an Asset Introduction

Whilst on the Asset list screen, tap the " " button, located centrally at the bottom of the application, this will open up the "Create Asset" page:

By default, the "Select Building" option is chosen. This is used to created an Asset from scratch but if there is an existing Asset that has similar data, this can be found using the "Existing Asset".

Using the "Select Building" option, please tap the search bar labelled "Building name/number" and begin to type either the Building Name, or Building Number. Tapping the search button on the keypad will display a list of Buildings that fit the search criteria.

Tap "Create Asset" against the required Building to display the rest of the Create Asset page. The Asset Number, Known As, Serial Number and Model Number can all be entered by tapping the relevant fields. Tapping the "Scan Barcode" will allow the User scan the barcode of the Asset to populate the Asset Number field using the camera on the device (in the same way as Scanning Into a Building).

In the search bar below the Model Number is the Equipment Type drop down. By typing in this field, a list of Equipment Types relevant to the entered text from will be displayed. Please choose the corresponding Equipment Type.

Each section below that will show a different page when tapped.

Tapping the "Location" section will display the Location page:

On this page, it is possible to either search for a Location using the search bar at the top of the page, or by using the drop down menus to select the "Level", "Area" and "Location" from the available options. Once a "Location" has been selected from the Location drop down, the Area drop down will appear the Location drop down will appear once an "Area" has been selected.

Any additional information about the Location of the Asset can be put into the freeform textbox located at the bottom of the page. Tap the "<" button to return to the Create Asset page.

Whilst on the Create Asset page, tapping the "Details" section will display the Details page. On this page, the user can provide a number of details relating to the Asset such the Status of the Asset, the Manufacturer, the Purchase Date and the Risk. Once all fields have been completed tap the "Submit" button at the top of the page.

If the Asset is covered by warranty, tap the "Warranty" section. On this page, by tapping "Yes", the user is able to provide the Asset Warranty details such as the Resource the warranty is with, the type of warranty and when the warranty starts and ends. Tap "Submit" to accept the details.

If any photographs need to be added to the Asset, tap the "Photos" section. This will show the Take Photo page.

To select a type of image, tap on the "Select an image type..." drop down, this will show you the options available, Fault: Pre and Fault: Post. Select one of these option, please note without selecting an image type you will not be able to submit that image.

Should you wish to add any additional information, simply tap on the additional information text box. This is a freeform text box and therefore you can type whatever you should see fit.

To take a photo, please tap the "Take Photo" button, use your device's camera as usual to take an image. Once took, the options, "RETRY" and "OK" will be available at the top of the screen. If the image is acceptable, please tap "OK". If you wish to retake the image, please tap "Retry".

To upload a pre-taken photo, please take the "Camera Roll" button, this will open your devices camera roll. Select the image you wish to upload. If there are multiple photos to be uploaded, use the "Camera Roll (Multiple)" to achieve this.

Once an image has been selected/taken, the image will be displayed as a preview in the blank space at the bottom of the application. If there are any additions that need to be made to the photo(s), tapping the image will allow the user to annotate the images. This includes drawing lines, shapes and even adding text to them. 

If you are happy with the image, please tap the "Submit" button. Should you wish to change the image, please continue as if you had just arrived on this screen.

Once the relevant images have been chosen, tap "Submit" to proceed.

The final step is to confirm if there is extra information to add, which is done by using the "Custom Data" section. Tapping this will show a number of field where extra details can be entered.

Tapping "Submit" will apply the extra details.

Once all sections are complete, tap the "Submit" button in the top of the page to create the Asset. To abandon the creation of this Asset, please tap the "Back" button in the top left hand corner.
